Strategically Equivalent Games

Strategically equivalent games are games with the same optimal strategies.

For example, games with payoff matrices (aij) and

¨ (aij+k), where k  is a constant

¨ (kaij), where k is any positive constant

are strategically equivalent.

If the value of the game with the payoff matrix (aij) is v, the value of the games with the payoffs matrices (aij+k), (kaij) is v+k, kv, respectively.

It can be shown that constant-sum games and zero-sum games are strategically equivalent, too.
