Conditional probability of an event is the probability that the event occurs conditional on some other event. Conditional probability of event B, given that event C has occurred, is labeled P(B|C). If events B and C are independent, the probability P(B|C) is equal to the probability P(B) (in like manner, P(C|A)=P(C)).
